The real America's Team triumphs over America's Biggest Disappointment

Steve Senne/AP

No Mohamed Sanu? No Phillip Dorsett? No problem.

In a rain-soaked affair at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots squeaked by the Dallas Cowboys 13-9.

The fireworks came early, as the Patriots scored 10 points off of Cowboys' turnovers. N'Keal Harry caught his first career touchdown pass to put the Patriots up 7-0, and then a blocked punt by Matthew Slater resulted in a field goal to make the score 10-0.

Two Cowboys field goals by Brett Maher made it 10-6 going into the half. From there, the two teams traded multiple scoreless possessions until 9:32 in the fourth quarter when Nick Folk converted on his second field goal of the day to make it 13-6.

Dallas answered with a field goal of its own on the ensuing drive to make it 13-9. With the Patriots' offense struggling, the Cowboys were given a chance to win the game with just over two minutes left in the game. What initially looked like a huge 4th & 11 completion from Dak Prescott to Amari Cooper was overturned, as the ball clearly hit the ground.

And while the numbers don't reflect his performance, Tom Brady was much better today than he was last week against Philadelphia. Brady was 17-of-37 for 190 yards and a touchdown. With Sanu and Dorsett out, Julian Edelman and rookie receiver Jakobi Meyers saw a lot of work.

Edelman caught eight balls for 93 yards, while Meyers caught four passes for 74 yards.

The Patriots, the true America's Team, improve to 10-1 and travel to Houston to play the Texans next Sunday night.
