Here's what Julian Edelman said to Gronk on game-winning drive

It was all defense, all day, in the low-scoring, hard-fought Super Bowl LIII.

But someone had to eventually win it.

The game’s only touchdown came midway through the fourth quarter to give the New England Patriots a 10-3 lead on the Los Angeles Rams. This all-important score was set up by two huge catches by the big man, Rob Gronkowski. He hauled in an 18-yarder to begin the drive and capped it off with a 29-yard catch and run to set New England up at the Rams’ 2-yard line, before Sony Michel hammered it in the endzone on the very next play.

After the game, the all-star tight end gave us some insight on what was going through their minds before the game-winning drive.

“You know, Julian, on that drive, looked at me and said, ‘We need another play out of you, Rob. We need a huge play,” said Gronkowski.

Belief and dependability on one another were what they needed, and it was that simple message from Jules to Gronk that helped spark the drive to win the franchise’s sixth championship.
