It was a wet and stormy one in Foxboro this Sunday, but the Patriots stay perfect and improve to 8-0 after a 27-13 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Bill Belichick earned his 300th career victory in the win, as well.
Here are the standout performers:
Julian Edelman
Jules had a day. He secured 8 passes for 78 yards and 2 scores. All 3 stats were game highs.
Jonathan Jones
Jones was great in coverage all game, and had 7 total tackles today. However, the reason he finds himself on the performers of the game was for the play he made on the Browns second drive of the game early in the first quarter. Browns running back Nick Chubb broke off a huge chunk of yardage and was poised to score, but out of nowhere comes Jones to punch the ball out of Chubb's grip. It was then recovered by the Patriots, resulting in Chubb's second lost fumble, on the only two carries he had gotten so far. Just an incredible hustle play by Jones, exactly what you wanna see from every guy on the field.
Adam Butler
Butler isn't one of the most flashy or popular players on the Patriots roster. But he's one of those guys that plays hard and gets the job done. He played great and was physical all game, and it resulted in him recording 2 sacks.
Jamie Collins
Collins seems to find his name on this list every week. He's on a short list for defensive player of the year, in my opinion. He had a monster game this week with 12 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
The Patriots get a real test next week with a match up against the Baltimore Ravens.
